When Speed and Distance Matter

When standard copper structured data cabling reaches its limits in distance or bandwidth, fibre optic cabling provides the solution. Transmitting data as pulses of light, fibre offers vastly superior speeds over much longer distances, complete immunity to electromagnetic interference (EMI), and enhanced security. It is the definitive choice for network backbones and critical high-speed links.

Excel Data Cabling are London's specialist fibre optic installers. We manage the entire process, from a detailed network design and consultancy phase to the meticulous installation, termination, and testing of your fibre infrastructure. We ensure your business has a high-capacity network core ready to meet the demands of today's data-intensive applications.

Our Fibre Optic Services

Multi-Mode Fibre (OM3, OM4, OM5)

Ideal for internal building backbones, such as linking comms rooms on different floors or connecting servers in a data centre. Multi-mode fibre provides high-bandwidth connectivity up to 100Gbps over shorter distances (typically up to 550 meters), making it a cost-effective solution for most commercial fibre installation requirements.

Single-Mode Fibre (OS2)

The solution for long-distance connectivity. Single-mode fibre is used for linking separate buildings on a campus, connecting to external service provider networks, and for backbone links stretching several kilometres. It offers virtually unlimited bandwidth, making it the ultimate future-proof cabling medium.

Fibre Optic Fusion Splicing & Termination

Our engineers use state-of-the-art fusion splicers to create permanent, low-loss connections between fibre cables. We terminate cables with precision using a variety of industry-standard connectors (LC, SC, ST) inside high-density patch panels, ensuring a clean and professional installation.

OTDR & Light Source Power Meter Testing

Every fibre installation is comprehensively tested and certified. We use Optical Time-Domain Reflectometer (OTDR) equipment to verify the integrity of the cable and a Light Source and Power Meter (LSPM) to confirm the exact signal loss (dB) on the link. Full test reports are provided for your records.
